Orange Juice For The Ear

I love reading the little quotes on Starbucks cups...I always read them aloud to the people I am enjoying Starbucks with, and make them read me theirs. Some of them have been really good... I thought this little saying was cute and got it on a cup a couple monhs ago. I actually took a picture of it to remember it, and while going through pictures found it again and thought I would share it

The Way I See It #267
"Music can lift us out of depression, or move us to tears.
it is a remedy.a tonic. orange juice for the ear..."

The writer of the quote went on to state how for patients in a neurological therapy program use music to access movement and speech, and everyday life, and how music has healed where no medicine can. He concludes, stating
"For them music is not luxury, but a necessity"

So...I just thought this was really cool :) I hope everyone had a fantastic Chistmas and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!!!

i suck.

Haha. Krystle is right. I do suck at blogs. I read everyone's faithfully (especially Krystle & Barry's, Amy and Kyle's, and Brianna and Cayde's... So fun to see what my "grown up" friends are doing with their lives, and especially to see all of their cute kids! All little boys so far but I am so excited to hear about baby girl Avery who will be coming to the Taylor's soon!) Hooray for babies!
Well, here I go again, how many months later? Geez. Well, I'm just finishing up my last semester at Western. It's kind of sad. . . I will miss everyone here and the comfortable feeling of being among my 'family' here. Every time I walk down the staircase to the basement of the school (passing the rock that looks like Hitler's face)...I feel like home. I love the enthusiasm everyone has for one another. Constant hugs and laughter, and the fact that everyone is so stoked on learning and growing and experiencing life, and school, and one another. I don't know of any other major that goes to watch another class's final, for example. Haha.
Moving on will be good for me. It's time. But I will miss all of the little things about Western that I've grown to know and love. The little reading corners in the library, the bench in the firelane, sitting in the atrium at the T Rex grill, the way our desks are set up in the theatre office and the fact that NONE of the writing utensils ever work in there. Taking naps in the handicapped box in the theatre during LONG rehearsals... The way the back hallway smells (and has smelled since I first experienced theatre at Western in 2002.) All of the memories when I see a costume or prop I used in a show. Lauren's studio. It's good stuff. If you're reading this, you probably have shared in some of these memories, or can think of your own.
College has been an incredible experience and will only continue for the next couple years. I can't wait to see what the next chapter of my life will be!
